breakfast: granola
lunch: herbal tofu, cucumber, sauerkraut
dinner: toast with peanut butter and banana
I'm so extremely tired today. It's like all I want to do is sleep. I keep getting cold too. It's in the high 70's and I've been bundled up all day or I start shivering. Also eating much less than normal. Not even sure if it's 1/3 of normal. Nothing looks or sounds good. I hope I stay healthy.

Scales Going Down!
breakfast: yogurt, strawberries, granola
lunch: eggplant-tomato tart
dinner: cucumber, sauerkraut, rice ball, vegetable & rice tofu pouch
workout: Callanetics 10/10 through legs, 1 1/2 hour walk
Since starting Callanetics, I had gained 3 pounds. I've now lost 2 of them. I'm still assuming that those 3 pounds were muscle since it's a workout that can build muscle quickly. Hopefully, that means the 2 I lost are pure fat. Whatever it is, I'll take it.

I Know I Shouldn't Have Done It
breakfast: granola
lunch: tofu, salad with strawberries, goat cheese and toasted pecans
dinner: oatmeal pancake with applesauce, soy sausage
workout: Quick Callanetics Stomach
I wasn't hungry at dinnertime, but I ate anyways. I don't know why I did it. Well, I do. It was time to eat. I ate because I always eat dinner. That's what you're supposed to do, right? Wrong. I know better. I had an oatmeal pancake because I had been wanting it for days. That's probably also what did me in. If I had had one earlier, I wouldn't have given into the craving when no other food looked appealing. Maybe I'll learn this time.

brakfast: banana-pecan scone, peanut butter, raw milk
snack: yogurt, strawberries, granola
lunch: snobby joes, baked fries, raw cheddar cheese, sauerkraut
snack: chocolate-peanut granola
dinner: herbal tofu, buffalo mozzarella
My dinner wasn't the healthiest, but it's what I really wanted. I found the most amazing buffalo mozzarella at Trader Joe's. I've had buffalo mozzarella before, but was very unimpressed. I couldn't tell what all the fuss was about. Now I know. This is so tender, sweet, and full of flavor. I don't know if I can go back to regular mozzarella now.

The Best Dieting Technique
I was thinking today about how many diet plans/programs there are. They all work for some people, but none of them work for everyone. How do you know which one will work for you? Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to be able to tell? Rather than trying 1,000 different things only to discover that #1,0001 is right for you, you could simply look at a chart or have a machine tell you the one program you should use. The dieting industry might suddenly start losing billions of dollars because people aren't constantly searching for the one program that will finally work for them. I guess that makes it less likely for such a thing to be invented. But it would be nice...
May 23:
breakfast: strawberry-almond smoothie (qephor, almond butter, strawberries)
lunch: tofu sandwich (marinated tofu, pickled vegetables, cilantro, bread)
dinner: peanut butter tofu noodles, cucumber, and steamed carrots and zucchini with tahini sauce - 4pm dinner is a little too early, but sometimes your body just wants a meal then.
snack: chocolate-peanut granola
weird note: Since starting Callanetics, my weight is up 3 pounds, but my clothes fit better. Guess it's muscle.

My Abs Have Left
My abs seemed nonexistant during my workout today. They were so unbelievably weak. It was hard to even get into the right position to do the ab exercises. I'm not sure what's happened in the past two days. I guess I could always think optimistically that I was just working the muscles much deeper than I realized and, thus will have even faster results.

Why Did I Eat Wheat?
breakfast: strawberry-banana smoothie
snack: granola
lunch: brie and pesto panini, potato salad
snack: tofu
dinner: lentil soup
Why was I so stupid as to eat wheat for lunch? The sandwich sounded really good on the menu and did taste good, but did I feel good afterwards? No. Did I feel good hours later? No. I know I've said this before, but I really, really need to stop eating wheat because of what it does to me. I think I ate this sandwich to finally convince myself to stop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll do so for a VERY long time.

May 20 - workout change
breakfast: granola
lunch: sauerkraut, rice ball, raw cheddar cheese
dinner: tofu, 1/2 baked sweet potato, marinated vegetables
workout: 45-minute walk
I decided to change my routine for days that I do Callanetics. I'm planning on skipping a day in between to give my muscles time to recover. I read it's supposed to speed up results, so we'll see.

Blogging Works
I've tried writing a food diary in the past, but I was never consistent with it. For some reason, blogging is working for me. It's also really revealing to me where I need to clean up my eating. I've cut sweets back a lot more, but I think I'm still eating grains too often and need more vegetables. That's my next step. Getting in more exercise is another goal. Callanetics is definitely changing the shape of my body and I do seem to be working my muscles more deeply each time I do it, but I feel like I need to do more than I am. Maybe it's a desire to reach my goal like, tomorrow, or something - just as fast as possible.

snack: mini pita bread pizza
lunch: 1/2 masala dosa, sambar

dinner: miso tofu, toast, and carrot and cucumber salad
workout: hours of yard work and house cleaning
I need to start eating better. I can tell I'm starting to slip back into old habits. I also need to start seeing about doing Callanetics more often. I have such good intentions to do it, but keep letting other things take priority.

Callanetics = ouch
breakfast: granola
lunch: pita bread, atter kik, vegetable wat
snack: peanuts, sauerkraut
dinner: granola
workout: callanetics 10/10, 30-minute walk
I really tried to pay attention to my form and to work to my max when doing Callanetics today. All I can say is ouch. It really shows me how I've been slacking off when doing the moves. I have muscles that hurt that I don't even remember working. I can only imagine that if I continue to workout like this that the results will be intensified. It's amazing how deceptively simple Callanetics is, as well as how fast you see visible results. I can't believe it hasn't caught on more. Why slave away for hours in the gym every day, when you can torture yourself in the privacy of your own home 2-3 times a week for less than an hour? I'm so glad I gave up on T-Tapp!

The Wheat Rant
breakfast: granola
lunch: 2 soy taquitos, hummus
dinner: atter kik, vegetable wat, pita bread, piece of chocolate covered honey spice cake
workout: none
I'm loving the granola thing. It keeps me full for 4-6 hours. It's amazing.
I made pita bread and ethiopian food today. Not exactly the most normal combination. One day I'll have to try making injera. I made the pita bread because I wanted some to go with hummus, but it wasn't done in time for the hummus. I have yet to find wheat-free pita bread, or really decent wheat-free bread in general. I can't stand rye bread and any spelt bread I've found in the store has the longest list of ingredients. Whatever happened to flour, yeast, salt, water? Maybe sometimes oil, sweetener, or nuts? I just don't feel right when I eat wheat. My stomach gets all bloated, I feel nauseous, I get cracks in the corners of my mouth, nasal congestion, and just so tired. Probably too much information, right? But it just sucks. I love bread and so many times if you ever want to eat out it's hard to avoid wheat, especially if you're a vegetarian. I'm glad I know how to bake bread, etc., well.

What Day Am I On?
I have no clue what day this is supposed to be anymore. I think I'm going to have start coming up with different post titles. Using the number of days I had been blogging was easy, but now I'm not even sure what day I'm on. What kind of titles are you supposed to use when you're basically just writing down what you're eating and doing on a daily basis. Oh well, I'll come up with something. If you have any ideas, please send them my way; they're more than welcome.

CardioCallanetics - not what it appears
Watching CardioCallanetics
is one thing. It looks fairly easy - no impact, no real choreography, short cardio section. But to do it...wow! I think the entire cardio section is a 30-minute leg-toning section. It does have fairly low intensity cardio, but pretty much every element involves some kind of leg toner - plies, lifts, etc. And then in the toning section, there's more. I think it's the entire leg toning section from CallaneticsEvolution.
I could barely walk when I was done. When I did the ab section, I thought I would have to do more in the evening because it was so short and simple, but boy did I feel it later. I think I still prefer the original 10/10, but it would definitely be something good to add in for some variety.

What a Whirlwind of a Week
I haven't posted much lately. Been too busy. You know how it seems like things can just happen all at once, a snowball effect of one on top of another. That's what it's been. But I'm back. Here's my info for yesterday:
breakfast: strawberry-banana smoothie
snack: chocolate granola (I made a great variation on the version on Nigella Lawson's feast. I think I prefer mine - far tastier and you can't tell it's healthier.)
lunch: lentil-millet bake with tamari gravy
snack: qephor, popcorn
dinner: pasta with marinara sauce - too tired to do more, despite my best intentions
workout: turbojam 20 minute workout, callanetics 10/10
Aim for your best!

Day 13
Breakfast: peanut butter toast, sauerkraut, cucumber, milk
Snack: walnuts
Lunch: half a falafel sandwich; gluten-free, sugar-free cookie
Snack: cherries, qephor
Dinner:
brown and wild rice with corn
tofu with vegetables
carrot, celery, and cabbage salad
milk
I did something to my back yesterday. I'm not sure how or even what. I was just sitting and it suddenly became extremely painful. It seems better today. Hopefully, it won't come back.
I thought the falafel sandwich would be a nice treat. I went to a Lebanese restaurant called Sinbad's that had fantastic food for years. Now it is truly awful. It's the same owners, but they have new partners who are trying to cut the costs. The cooks are no longer Lebanese. They're not even Middle Eastern. Prices are the same, but servings are now 1/3 the size which is probably a good thing because the food is extremely bland, far from authentic, and just truly disappointing. Apparently, all of their regular customers are leaving. It's one thing to make changes to improve your business and profit. It's another when those changes negatively impact your business.
